Photography of still life

Still life pictures may be rather complex and time consuming if you are hunting the best possible result.

The main issue is the composition of course but as important component is the lighting.
My favourite light comes somewhere from the rear side of the motive.

Fev examples of this kind of light set can be seen on my pictures taken for "Anna kauneus" magazine. The first picture consists of the perfume bottles of Giorgio Armani.
The only reasonable light for the glass bottles is just the rear light. In this picture the rear light has been reflected to the other parts of the front by several separate reflector depending on - what shape and effect will be needed in some particular place of the motive.

The second picture below has been lighted by the equal technique. The subject is Max Jacobs's perfumes. Publication is Anna Kauneus 2007.

The third picture has been shooted just for fun.

Still life picture where the light is coming from the rear-right drawing the shape out. Metal surface will need wide reflectors to get the light to the correct places and wider areas to give a correct feeling.
A light "blur" -effect has been added to both sides to let the picture end by an elegant way.
