Summer Palace

We took a bus from the buss station, not far from our hotel in Beijing. I went with my map to the ticket office and got two way tickets and the buss number.
Anyone coud so much english they coud have informed that the Summer Plalace was actually the final stop so I spent my time studying the map trying to follow the buss road. When coming closer I went to the driver with my map and he kinly asked me to sit down, he'll let me know when we'll be there. And yes, when parking the empty buss to the parking lot he came to me with smily face informed that this was the Summer Palace, we could now leave the buss.

You'll see some pictures from: Imperial Palace Museum (forbidden city), the Temple of Heaven Park, Summer Palace, Bell and Drum Tower, Jingshan Park (Coal Hill), Bei Hai Park, Zoo, Tianmen Square, a Budhist temple in the city - nearly in every most interesting place in Bejing and short way outside like the Great Wall and the Imperial Summer Palace.

This picture has been shot near by the entrance to the Summer Palace.
The artifical lake was frozen at that time of the year but the day was sunny.

This nice souvenir shop was on the way to the main palace area.

This is how the museum area looked like. Behind every wimdow we coud see something interesting. We could not enter to any of those nice rooms.

Behind this window we could peep behind the centuries. This room may have been in use of some of the royal wife having calligraphy as her hobby.

I liked to have this beatifull interior with me. But better not even to try.

This was a mechanical fan, used like an old gramaphone.

Upp we'll go to the temple looking over the Summer Palace area.

This staircase is leading up to the temple. There were a mirroring pair so that we could use the others to go down.
The temple was decorated with beutiful fully coloured wooden roof beams.

Wiev to the direction of the Iron Pagoda.

This was the wiev down to the museum area from the stairs leading to the temple.

Please visit on the other China pages: a trip to the Forbidden City and a visit to the Summer Palace. We allso visited the Great Wall, the Temple of Heaven Park, Bell and Drum Tower, Jingshan Park (Coal Hill), Bei Hai Park, Zoo, Budhist temple, Tianmen Square
